EXTRACTION (2022) Artist book, 26 x 14 x 5cm
Created during a publication project in collaboration with Banner Repeater, this artist book bridges the gap between conceptual writing and artwork creation. Inspired by a NASA database cataloging manmade objects left on the moon, the book takes the shape of a piece of orbital debris. ‘Extraction’ explores how context transforms objects into artefacts, as mundane items, such as coins, hygiene products, or clothing, gain monumental significance when situated in the lunar environment. This parallels how rocks or objects in museums or archaeological sites are recontextualised to evoke renewed interest. The book invites the viewer to physically extract it from its container, mirroring the process of uncovering a partially buried object. Through its text, it highlights the vast amount of human litter left in space, encouraging reflection on the environmental and cultural implications of space exploration.

SCULPTING TEXTURES
(2019) Printed card and paper, 15 x 6 x 5 cm
‘Sculpting Textures’ was documentative, an accumulation of textures from carving and casting processes

ORIGAMI METEORITE (i & ii)

(2021) Stone lithograph, 6 x 6 x 7cm
(2021) Rag Paper, iron mordant, stone dye and thread

Inspired by the historical connection between paper and space mechanics, this piece highlights the unique material memory of paper, which has long been used to map and design spacecraft structures. One notable example is the Miura fold, developed in 1996 for the Space Flyer Unit. The use of origami to represent celestial objects creates a cohesive link between the precision of paper folding and the reconstruction of meteorite forms, blending origami with the technical ingenuity of space exploration.

WAXED
(2017) Paper and microcrystalline wax, 18 x 9 x 3cm
‘Waxed’ is a collection of photographs documenting degrading wax artworks containing suspended metal objects. Each page of the book was dipped in wax and then bound together using a cube of wax. The impressions made on the coating of each page remain as a memory of every reader.

SHARD (2018) Paper and card, 23 x 19 x 3 cm
This piece documented a light installation in which a film of wax artworks being disassembled and reassembled was projected through a glass-wax sculpture. As the light's intensity melted the glass-wax, the projections evolved and distorted, creating a fluid interplay between material transformation and visual abstraction.
