BURIAL
(2023) Bronze, pewter, sand, resin, limestone, and plywood,136 x 90 x 32 cm
'Burial' delves into the themes of orbital debris, highlighting the 22,000 man-made objects abandoned in Earth's orbit. The work reflects on their discarded nature, the dangers they pose upon re-entry, and the unintentional monuments they create upon impact. Composed of a layered infrastructure, the installation evokes a cavernous underground setting, where objects appear lodged or displaced, symbolising their chaotic return to Earth and their lasting imprint on the landscape.

Sculptures ’Terraforming Component’ and ‘Impact’ embedded within ‘Burial’ explore humanity's relationship with planetary transformation and survival. ’Terraforming

TERRAFORMING COMPONENT
(2023) Bronze, sand and bio-resin, 25 x 15 x 6cm
’Terraforming Component’ critiques the concept of modifying planetary atmospheres, inspired by Jack Williamson's sci-fi story Collision Orbit, and raises questions about intentional human interference with the environment.

’IMPACT’
(2021) Ancaster weatherbed limestone, 21 x 21 x 26 cm

’Impact’ investigates resilience under extreme conditions through a satirical design—a spiked, half-spherical limestone structure theoretically capable of anchoring and cushioning against meteorite impacts. The use of weatherbed limestone emphasises themes of transformation under intense forces, echoing natural processes of compression and change.
