RESURFACING
(2022) Graphite, 80 x 62 cm
Due to the high cost of transportation, proposals for future settlements on other planets rely on natural, harvestable materials. Within this set of drawings and prints I explore interlocking forms where seemingly mechanical or industrial forms meet organic shapes. I use line to suggest objects and materials are buried within the landscape.

EMPTY VESSEL I / II (2019) Graphite and Charcoal, 90 x 71 cm
Assorted drawings documenting shadows made when shining a light through a carved wax object. A layer of charcoal determines the initial shape, and is then overlaid with intricate, cross-hatching. The line work determines the undulation of the structures shape when the drawing is converted into sculpture.
