WE COLLIDED (2021) Perspex, sand and resin, 127 x 127 x 35 cm
‘We Collided’ was an interactive installation created for the Bankside Artist Space in Blackfriars. Inspired by NASA demonstrations using household items to analyse splatter patterns of fallen debris, the installation explored how the angle and speed of meteorite impacts can be determined. Guests were invited to select from eight resin and sand meteorites and drop them onto a constructed planetary surface within the gallery. Over the course of the residency, visitors contributed to the evolving surface, collectively simulating the dynamic processes of planetary formation and impact analysis.
